In my crazy head, kids’ movies are evergreens, if they were loved by children back in the day then that should still be the case. Anyone who has ever watched a Looney Tune or read the original versions of most Grimm fairy tales knows this is not the case, which is also something I realized when I showed my niece a film I thought was perfect for young people, Alexander Korda’s magnificent colour fantasia on an eastern theme. Thankfully she was willing to talk to me about the film and shares her reactions with me.
