#023: Robocop

Not everyone goes to the movies to be entertained, some people like to be reassured of their moral virtues and, if a movie doesn’t agree with you in that regard, it can inspire a lot of pompous soap boxing.  Paul Verhoeven knows all this and likes to be as provocative and angering as he is entertaining, and I don’t know that he ever reached a wider audience or did it better than in his science-fiction masterpiece about a robot in search of its soul.
