#017: Salo, or The 120 Days Of Sodom

criterion17PIER PAOLO PASOLINI

1975

I used to love going to the downtown HMV location in Toronto for Boxing Day, when they’d have a sale that only an idiot could love: 4 for the price of 3!  I racked up so much debt at that place (which, in Toronto, is no longer), but I do remember getting some great finds, including finally owning a copy of the movie I’d heard so much about, Pasolini’s last and most notorious film.  Watching it was another matter…  On this episode I discuss my experiences of the film, plus have the pleasure of my friend Nikos Tyrovolas telling me his own journey with it.
