#014: Samurai I: Musashi Miyamoto



Large-scale sagas are a magnificent thing when they are done well, and they’re rarely done as well as Inagaki’s Samurai Trilogy, based on a novel considered to be Japan’s Gone With The Wind.  Criterion already gave viewers a treat with their original releases of these films, but putting them out on one blu-ray set was a movie lover’s dream come true.  On this episode I consider the effects of all three films in one.
