#003: The Lady Vanishes

Everyone’s family is full of fascinating characters, so it’s not like I’m reinventing the wheel to talk about all the figures in mine, past and present.  Because movies play an integral part of my life, I associate many of my friends and family with either specific movies or, sometimes, genres or eras.  The early thirties always makes me think of my paternal grandmother, the family member from whom I inherited my love of cinema and whose dreams of someday starring in them eventually revealed themselves to be merely illusions.
